Born in Marseille, I have been snorkeling for a long time. I scuba dive only since 2001 and I am really fond of it. I am a level 2 diver in the FFESSM (French standards) and CMAS. Here after you can find some informations about great scuba-diving sites in Marseille but also in the French Antillas and French Polynesia where I went for holidays or work.
Marseille
I dive there with a professional club called Aqua 13 which is located at the Pointe Rouge. Aqua13 is a small, new club (created in 2004), with a fast zodiac boat and young, dynamic instructors. Two of them are the authors of a small guide of the diving spots of Marseille: great persons to dive with. They will make you enjoy the great potentialities of Marseille’s bay in terms of scuba diving! Hereafter you can find links to web sites about scuba diving in Marseille:

I advise you the diving sites of Riou archipelago and especially: Les Imperiaux, Les Moyades and Les Farillons.
Guadeloupe
I passed there my first CMAS diving degree in the great diving sites of Cousteau marine reserve (around two small islands: les Ilets Pigeons). I dived with a big club providing very experienced instructors: Les Heures Saines. Nevertheless, there are plenty of other diving clubs in the same bay that you could choose if you prefer smaller structures (such as Evasion Plongée for example).
Martinique
I was in Martinique for holidays and went diving a lot there, again in a big diving structure: Sainte Luce Plongée. Nevertheless, even if the club itself is quite big with two boats and many instructors, the atmosphere was really warm and we had great moments both while diving and after the dives with the traditional Ti-punchs and Lorraine biers.
French Polynesia
I spend there 2 months for a working trip. I dived a bit in Moorea, the island where I mostly stayed but this was not within an official diving structure. Then I went in a small atoll for a week: Tikehau. I dive there in a small annex of the famous Raie Manta Club of Rangiroa. At the opposite of its great brother of Rangiroa, this club is a very small structure, maintained by only one instructor, and very friendly. There a few great diving spots there, especially the “sharks’ hole” one off my the most amazing dives I’ve ever done! Enjoy!
